Breaking: As far I remain the President of US Iran will never achieve nuclear capability – President Trump
President Donald Trump says he would not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon so long as he stayed in office, he went on to pressure other countries including the UK and Russia into considering a renegotiation of the nuclear deal with Tehran first established under president Barack Obama.
He claimed Iran appeared to be “standing down” after the strike on Iraqi bases used by US troops
Mr Trump said he would not respond in kind with military actions, and would instead introduce new, severe economic sanctions
He added no Americans or Iraqis were harmed following the strikes
However he said he would pressure NATO countries to become “much more involved in the middle east process”
Mr Trump said the US continues to look at its options and will impose “powerful” economic sanctions on Iran. He said the US drone strike on Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s top general, sent a powerful message to potential terrorists. He said Soleimani had been planning new attacks on US targets.
The US president went on to say he would ask Nato to become more involved in the Middle East process. He said world powers can work on a new deal with Iran on nuclear weapons.
The president called on Europe, China, Russia and other countries to break away from the deal and said Iran must abandon its nuclear ambitions and end its support for terrorism.
President Trump said minimum damage was sustained from the Iranian missile strikes, adding no American or Iraqi lives were lost. He said Iran appears to be standing down.
Mr Trump concluded his statement by saying the US does not want to use its military might, adding that its economic strength is its best deterrent. He said the US and Iran should work together on shared priorities, including the fight against ISIShttp://blogwatch.com.ng/2020/01/08/breaking-as-far-i-remain-the-president-of-us-iran-will-never-achieve-nuclear-capability-president-trump/http://blogwatch.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/trump.jpghttp://blogwatch.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/trump.jpgNews
